The Goal: Teach specific dances and coordinated routines to develop cardiovascular fitness and heart health
Franchises: Generally geared towards girls. Constant movement (needed for heart health) may not necessarily be a component of a dance program which is trying to teach specific movements more than keeping children in an aerobic state.
KID-FIT: As a part of every class, dances in the KID-FIT program are designed to appeal to both boys and girls. The entire workout, not just the dancing, is kept constantly moving at a pace all children can handle and enjoy. Children receive a true aerobic workout, essential for burning fat and decreasing risk factors for future heart disease. And, no silly outfits – just workout clothes and sneakers.
