Start-Up Business Package FAQ's
No. You will need to agree to our Terms and Conditions of Purchase but are not required to sign any contract with us. You may terminate your license at any time. You may however, sign contracts with the locations that you hold classes in (a basic contract for services is included in your package). Should you decide to stop teaching classes, it will be up to you to fulfill the terms of any contracts that you sign with local businesses.
In terms of business expenses, you will need office supplies and equipment for each session which we notify you of 6 weeks in advance. You can make some of the items or purchase from discount merchants. You will also want to have CPR/First Aid and liability insurance to protect yourself. As far as any other fees involving us, there are none.
No. Only for the "USA/International Business Package" licenses.
If you are granted a license, that means there is no KID-FIT "USA/International Business Package" owner in the area. You may solicit accounts anywhere you like, without territory restrictions.
This package does not allow for additional teachers. If you plan on growing a business that would require more than 1 person to teach, purchase the "USA/International Business Package" license instead.
Yes. And there is a payment plan for paying the additional fee at that time if needed.
Your license stays active as long as you are paying the monthly curriculum fee. Once you stop paying the monthly fee, we will assume you are no longer in need of the curriculum and are forfeiting your license. Should you want to return at a later date, you would pay the original purchase price to start back up and resume teaching/selling classes.
If someone else comes into your general area with a Start-Up Business Package, they will not be able to solicit any accounts that you already have . They would also be bound by the Terms and Conditions of Purchase which means they would risk losing their license if they tried to take accounts from you, undercut you in pricing, etc. If you wish to have a designated area that no one else can operate in, the "USA/International Business Package" license would be the best package for you.
USA-International Business Packages FAQ's
In several ways. First, the cost is phenomenally low. We believe in spreading fitness to children everywhere, regardless of whether concerned individuals have large amounts of money to invest or not. Plus, we do not require a percentage of your class sales. You get a tried and proven program (we've been doing this successfully for over 20 years now). Look at what the popular franchises give you and compare to what you get from KID-FIT. You'll see more value for less money. KID-FIT was developed and is run by true fitness professionals and therefore is focused around safe and effective fitness for children in addition to offering business basics. Check out the owner's credentials and corporate backgrounder.
The KID-FIT program is designed for children ages 2-5, Kindergarten children being the oldest. Some of the materials can definitely be used with older age groups but the actual routine and music is most appealing to those who are of preschool and Kindergarten age. No more than 20 children per class provided the KID-FIT teacher has at least one other assistant. We use a KID-FIT teacher plus 2 school teachers. Assistants can be parents, day care workers or other adults. By limiting class size to 20, children are easier to control and assure the environment is both fun and safe. In addition, you would only need to provide and store equipment for 20 children.
Without assistance, you won't be able to conduct the classes as designed. Activities change very frequently and if you are alone you won't have time to distribute and collect equipment with time left to do the activities. There won't be help to deal with behavior issues or children who have specific needs ("I have to go to the bathroom!"). In addition, we don't recommend teaching children without other adults present for liability reasons. And, you want staff to be there to see what wonderful things you are providing.

If you are concerned more with your creative control than program components and reputation, rest assured. With the backbone of the class already designed for you, you're free to be more expressive, energetic and a better teacher.

No.  The KID-FIT curriculum topics stay the same (teaching topics like heart, lungs, bones, etc.) but the actual routines, music, activities and supplemental materials change each session. So, this year's session on the bones is entirely different from last year's and the year before. Once a session is over, like a magazine subscription, it's gone. Your classes stay fresh and are updated to fit both the times and current research.
No.  All KID-FIT  teachers are given detailed instructions on how to teach the program session by session. Training is done online at your convenience and through KID-FIT business owners.
Each session you will be taken through a step-by-step description of what to do for each song on the KID-FIT lesson plan. You will see the instructions performed slowly so you can practice to each segment and then view an entire full-length class to see how the routine works in real life. If you don't have a background in fitness don't worry. Love for children and being good around them is most important. Virtually anyone fit and willing to take the time to prepare for each session will be able to teach the program.
No. The KID-FIT program is highly focused on offering the absolute best for the 2-5 year old age market. Step-by-step training provided is helpful in understanding fitness as it applies to only the youngest preschool children.
No. It will make you more valuable as a fitness instructor or trainer. The class time for most KID-FIT classes fits nicely around personal training schedules and group fitness instruction.
KID-FIT is taught at schools, fitness facilities, day care centers, churches and just about anywhere there is a population of preschool children. You can teach for a current KID-FIT business owner, at home with your children or at one of the locations mentioned above should the facility buy a single site license and require an instructor.

And, an effective fitness workout benefits greatly by items that can help develop muscle mass, balance, flexibility, etc. You'll need to have various props on-hand each session. Things like bean bags, hoops, scarves, balls, tunnels, etc.
You will, of course, need a computer with high speed internet (DSL or Cable) to download video and listen/burn music.
If you are teaching outside of the home you will need to have liability insurance and CPR Certification.
We recommend at least $1,000,000.00 worth of liability insurance to cover you in case anything were to happen while teaching the children. Many of the classes are offered off-site and since you may be traveling to many places it's best if you have the coverage follow you. You can expect to pay around $250-$350/yr for insurance, depending upon what source you use. If you are planning on using the curriculum in a private or public school, the school's insurance would most likely cover you. Insurance can be added to your homeowners plan or through an outside company (inquire for companies we recommend).
If you are a parent, you can start teaching immediately or with the very next session. Sessions change each 6 weeks and you can begin teaching anytime during the year. Your first package will be available for teaching within 6 weeks. Payment is for one full year of the curriculum beginning from your designated start date. If you work for a licensed business owner, your schedule will be determined by them.
We're here for you whenever you need help and will get back to you in a timely manner should you have a concern, question or problem.

Once a week or more. Ideally, we recommend you spend once a week at a facility and have the staff practice individual skills during the other days. For vacations and time off you can either miss the lessons or make them up. The program runs continually yearlong. We suggest that the program be taught for a minimal amount of 1 year. The strength of the KID-FIT program is clearly seen over the course of a year and you'll have a chance to demonstrate every session. In addition, you have access to our pre-post test for children. If administered you'll see how the program increases both preschool health knowledge and fitness level.
